HELP! I need to Identify this Fly! |
Over the last several months, I have managed to catch everything from sunfish and chubs, to bass and pickerel to brook and rainbow trout on this small sinking fly. Since it has been so successful, in the pursuit of such a huge number of species, I was hopeful that someone would be able to identify. Despite my visits to local fly shops nobody seems to be stocking this particular pattern! Help!
I personally have no idea, but my good buddy over at Chucking Line and Chasing Tail may have an idea. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gang, I will explore your advice to check in with CLCT!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty good at identifying flies. Try reposting with it dry and with another background, its kind of hard to see the materials.
ReplyDeleteJGR, Will do buddy. Plan to take a few shots tonight and post tomorrow. I spent about an hour last evening surfing through fly patterns online to no avail! Would be great to get it identified! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey Rabid..great to be back from West Grand and back in communication with the outside world! How was Upper Lead? Try asking Brk trt at Small Stream Relfections..
ReplyDeletePB, Yes, I saw the photographic evidence . . . looks like it was a fantastic time! I had a blast at upper lead no fish but managed to catch two HUGE snapping turtles (post soon!). Ok, will circulate pic to a few experts. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAll, I have narrowed the fly down to a type of Matuka. Will continue my search for the specific pattern.
